In 2009 children from the 6th form of Mosman Primary School held a Lapathon to raise money to help the children at the Volta Home Orphanage. This generous donation has been used to begin the trust fund that offers secondary education to some children who achieve very high passes in the state exam. It also provides special education for the three blind children who now board at the blind school in Akropong and come home to Voltahome for their holidays each year. Special thanks to Lauren Curry, teacher; Sara Good, parent and to all the students of the sixth form at the Mosman Primary School for making this possible.

In 2010 we worked hard towards eliminating ringworm which is a common fungal disease which leads to further infection if not treated. We were also called upon to help during the wet season because there was a very nasty outbreak of malaria. About 40% of the children had malaria that year. These children have no-where to go when they are ill and they continue to go to school, without complaining. Sick children will often be abused at school because they fall asleep or don't participate in class. In 2010 there were some very serious cases and we were able to pay for hopital and medical expenses. Please help us to eliminate this problem from their lives

In 2010 the trust fund built shower blocks for the children. Until this year the children had no privacy for bathing. |
